get grounded outside or indoors
Good morning, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE],
Lately, I’ve noticed a repeating pattern:
Many people are feeling ungrounded, uncertain, and—understandably—exhausted.
It’s as if we are spending more time in our heads trying to figure our lives out as best we can. This constant chatter in the mind can keep us out of the body and in more of a state of worry and fear.
It is in and through the body that we feel grounded, secure, and can come back to ourselves.
How do we get into our bodies? Where do we begin?
Focus on the breath. Inhale and count your breath 1-2-3-4; then, exhale and count your breath 1-2-3-4.
Repeat this pattern 5 times.
Notice how the deeper intentional breath makes you feel.
Trees have such nourishing, grounding energy that can replenish us.
Then, try your favorite technique below to help you feel more stable wherever you are.
Get Grounded Outside:
Take a walk without your phone
Rest with your back on a tree
Walk barefoot in the grass
Stargaze on your back
Feel More Grounded Indoors:

Give yourself a foot massage
Soak in Epsom salts
Try this FREE Guided Tree Meditation
Place your legs up the wall or couch
Restorative Yoga is another wonderful practice to help us return to our natural calm state. Join me Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at The Margaret Carpenter Center in Thornton, CO. We start with centering and meditation, and then move into gentle poses that are held for 5-8 minutes. Props including blankets, bolsters, and blocks allow the body to deeply relax and let go.
