Fear and Intuition: Know the Difference

The topic of fear versus intuition often comes up during intuitive guidance sessions. You've been asking for the differences recently so lets explore it further. Both fear and intuition are accessible within you and have an important purpose in your life.

At times when your fear is overly active, it can be challenging to hear your intuition as your fear is concerned with making sure your basic needs are met, especially safety. Fear is connected to your inner child, age 3-7 who wakes up from a nightmare and doesn't know how to respond. Adult responsibilities are too much for the inner child to handle. Give yourself time to comfort this important part of yourself.

Your intuition is located in your heart and is known as your 6th sense or Inner Knowing. Journaling, spending time in nature, meditation, yoga, and listening to music are practices that will help you strengthen your intuition. Going for a drive or taking a shower can also help you access this wisdom.

The opposite of fear it trust.

Fear:

  • Feels scary, overwhelming, and doom-filled

  • Wants your immediate attention and action

  • Can often be related to an experience when your needs weren't met

  • Wants to keep you safe and alive

  • Rational and logical at times

Intuition:

  • Feels exciting and creates a sense of possibility and openness

  • Is more of an invitation than a demand

  • Might repeat the same message, usually gently or neutrally

  • Wants to keep you moving forward towards expansion

  • Often can't be explained rationally

Which one can you recognize more easily?

Intuitive Guidance allows your trust in yourself more readily and makes the process easier. These sessions are designed to help you identify and follow where your intuition is leading you. You'll feel more confident to trust yourself, embrace your fear, and move in the direction of your highest good.
